A day that belongs to all those who dance



World Ballet Day has existed since 2014. The initial idea was beautiful and very simple: to open the doors. For one day, major international companies allow cameras into their studios, showing warm-ups, barre work, rehearsals, corrections — everything that the public never sees because the curtain only rises afterwards.


What moves me about this day is that it puts things into perspective. Ballet isn't primarily about a performance. It's about a class, a barre exercise repeated for the hundredth time, burning feet, a correction finally understood six months later. After nearly 50 years of dancing, that's what I remember most: the work, not the bows.


And that's exactly what's happening this week in theaters across Belgium and around the world. The studios may be smaller than those of the Opera. The work is the same...

Two days, two ways to enjoy it

  • Thursday, October 29 : the shop is open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. , in Hautrage (Saint-Ghislain).

    The code is applied directly at the checkout.

    It's also a chance to try things on at your leisure: the size, support, drape, and comfort of a leotard should be judged on yourself, not from a photo. Take your time; that's why the shop exists.

  • Friday, October 30 — shop exceptionally closed

    The code BALLET10 remains valid all day on allthatdance.be .

    Ordering, payment, shipping: everything is working normally. And delivery is free for orders over €70.


For whom?

For classical dancers, of course. But also for jazz, contemporary, urban dance, and for yoga and Pilates practitioners who will find with us clothing designed for support and freedom of movement.

And for parents: if the school year started in September and the equipment has already seen two months of use, these two days are perfect timing. Children grow faster than equipment wears out, so it's best to make the most of it now.
